UN EJEMPLO DE VIDA. An example of life
Aún con una lucidez increíble, y
siempre con una dulce sonrisa en su rostro, nuestro poeta local Don Aledo Luis
Meloni celebró ayer sus 103 años de vida.
Él es un ejemplo de vida y servicio
a la comunidad, ya que hasta hace muy poco tiempo atrás concurría asíduamente
al hospital para leer su libros y poemas a los enfermos.
Still with an incredible lucidity and always
with a sweet smile on his face, our local poet Don Aledo Luis Meloni celebrated yesterday
his 103 years of life.
He is an example of life and community service. Even not long ago, he used to attend regularly to the hospital to read his books and poems to the sick people.
Canto
“La palabra echa a volar en el canto;
Es como si el canto le diera
las alas que necesita para ser pájaro
para llegar y quedarse allí
donde alguien la está esperando”
The singing
“The word begins to
fly in the singing.
It is as if the
singing gave it the wings
it needs to become a
bird,
to come and remain there,
where someone is waiting for it.”
“El árbol su sombra
entrega/ sin mirar a quién: /al que no agradece nada/ y al que sabe agradecer/ al que
no lo hiere nunca/ y al que lo hiere también” .
“The tree provides its shade without looking at
whom/ to whom does not express gratitude for nothing/and to whom knows how to be grateful /to whom
never hurts it/ and to whom hurts it as well”.
“Alabo al sol por su ejemplo
de trabajo y humildad:
llega y alumbra en silencio
y como viene se va.”
“I praise to the Sun for its example
of work and humility:
It comes and lights up silently
and as it comes, it goes away.”

Como el árbol y el sol de sus
poemas, pensemos en brindar lo mejor de nosotros mismos sin recibir nada a
cambio, tan solo la alegría de haber hecho algo bueno por los demás.
¡Tal vez ese sea el secreto de
la longevidad!
Like the tree and the sun of his poems, let's
give the best of ourselves without waiting for anything in exchange, only the
happiness of sharing something good with others.
Maybe this is the secret of longevity!
